Spartan Bhangra has always been an active volunteer when it comes to giving back to the community. Being a nonprofit organization, we believe in making collaborative efforts as a team to make a positive impact on our community.
Take a look at some of our community service efforts:
Bhangra Workshops at Schools - One of our goals is to expand Bhangra and Punjabi culture in the United States. What better way than to start by inspiring young American students to learn Bhangra? Our team organizes Bhangra workshops at nearby schools where we teach students about Bhangra and its history. We've really enjoyed doing workshops with Montessori High School and Cleveland Heights Public School in the past and are excited to conduct more workshops this year!
Hope Lodge - The Hope Lodge is a safe space run by the American Cancer Society that provides temporary, comfortable, and supportive accommodations free of charge for those in need during cancer treatment. Our team loved performing for the guests and entertaining them during their stay. We look forward to returning to perform there again!
Judson Park Senior Center - Judson Park is an on-campus senior retirement home, and our team really enjoys performing for the residents there! When we visit, we perform our competition set and speak to the residents about the history and culture of Bhangra. We hope to continue serving Judson and the local community through these performances!
